News and InformationAECW Winter ConferenceDate Added: 31 Jan, 2009On Saturday January 31st 2009 AECW held a special assembly at Newtown Evangelical Church dealing with a number of issues that will affect all churches in the forthcoming 12 months. The conference was primarily for church officers but others were free to attend. About 55 representative s from 28 Evangelical Churches across Wales attended the event. Brian Matthews, a legal specialist from the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches (FIEC) spoke on alterations to constitutions necessary to comply with the charities legislation. So far only larger churches with over £100,000 turnover have been required to register as charities but soon the threshold will be removed affecting all AECW & other evangelical churches not in denominations.
